Nicolas: “I started a fundraising campaign that made it possible to make the plaster, the floor, the windows, the painting and the doors.”
I arrived in January 2018 at the Children’s Tree of Life orphanage without a very specific mission. I quickly realized that the organization had very little money. There was only a small dorm and the beginning of a classroom. The walls and the roof had been made by the association Vision Humaine in 2017. So I started a fundraising campaign that made it possible to make the plaster, the floor, the windows, the painting, and the doors. The rest of the funds served to buy foodstuffs. We then meet the association Aide au Benin which had more resources and with their collaboration, we had the means to make a terrace, table, and chairs for the children. They also finance a drilling that guarantees the children access to water. I also participated in projects in the surrounding villages on the topics of the fight against malaria and HIV. To this day I am the representative in France of the orphanage and I try to support them as best as I can.
