Marianne: “The students here have nothing to do with the students in my country.”
Today is the day I have to leave Thoo Mweh Khee. It has been the best experience of my (short) life, there is no other way to say it.
For the students, I love each and every one of you. The students here are nothing like the students in my country, and you should be proud of the respectful and hard-working people you are. I am sure you will do well during your internship in Karen State and I hope you will work hard in the few years you have left before you graduate. It’s amazing how much you’ve improved in 10 months! I am so proud of you. TMK gives you an incredible chance for your future, please keep it in mind even in difficult days.
For teachers and roommates, I’m going to miss your faces waking up every morning and our dinners together. Even with the difficult conditions and the difficulty of living at tmk, I would be back anytime because of all the joy, happiness at tmk and that its people have brought me every day. I will never forget you. I hope I will find my way back to you. I hope we can meet again!
