Sophie: “My feedback is extremely positive, I was very sad to leave the community!”
My name is Sophie and I’m 25 years old. I met the association AIME in February 2019 in order to participate in a volunteer mission in May with one of its partner associations. That’s how I went to Honduras and became a volunteer for the Honduras Child Alliance (HCA). An experience rich in emotions and energy.
I actively participated for one month in the missions of HCA, which offers children aged 6 to 12 years old access to quality education and pedagogy: teaching English, Spanish, science, plastic arts, etc. and participating in the association’s transversal activities. More precisely, I was responsible for various activities carried out in the morning and afternoon classes, I participated in the healthy program by preparing snacks for the children, and in communication missions whether it was posts on social networks, making posters etc…
It was extremely enriching to integrate the community of El Porvenir, a small village between the sea and the mountains, whose culture is very different from mine. The integration process was quick and easy, I was very well received by the other volunteers as well as the locals. There is a real mutual help between the members of the association and a strong involvement of all.
My feedback is extremely positive, I was very sad to leave the community!
