The mission of the EcoGreen Foundation is to provide an answer to the alarming phenomenon of deforestation in Zambia. This is due to the legal and illegal production of large quantities of coal. Coal is used daily for cooking both in the city and throughout the country. Around 650 bags of goods are brought to Livingstone. The EcoGreen Foundation aims to promote reforestation, raise awareness of the dangers of deforestation, educate young people about environmental issues, provide opportunities. The foundation also encourages the local community of livingstone to plant trees, and provides sustainable solutions for the community and seeks to promote alternative sources of energy.
