Description of the partner

The Camélia association was created in February 2018 with the aim of improving the quality of life of the residents of Dugny, through citizen action and by developing moments of conviviality. The association participates in neighborhood life by carrying out concrete activities for young people in priority neighborhoods. These include

  • Homework workshops: support for pupils from first grade to 3rd year of secondary school.
  • Digital workshops: encourage digital learning and develop digital uses for all.
  • Creative and cultural workshops: promoting access to culture for residents of the city’s inner-city areas.
  • Food aid distribution for disadvantaged families
The mission

The activities carried out by the volunteers focus on various areas:

  • Support for the design and running of face-to-face homework help training modules: Helping to create teaching content, support for the running of workshops and support for pupils from first grade to 3rd year of secondary school.
  • Support for digital workshops with partner “Les jardins numériques”: Promote digital learning and develop digital uses for all.
  • Support and development of creative and cultural workshops, in conjunction with local partner Le Secours Catholique: promote access to culture for residents of the city’s urban development policy.
  • Support for the distribution of food parcels and marauds for local residents
  • Support for the development and organization of associative events
Candidate profile

Volunteers work in a socially mixed environment during their mission. In the course of their activities, they interact with a variety of people: members of the association’s partner associations, mentors and coaches who organize the workshops, and beneficiaries. They are also in contact with other volunteers involved with the association from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds.

The proposed mission is open to all young people, regardless of qualifications or previous experience. The key factors for success are to be interested in the main themes of the project and to share the strong values of the Camélia association.
