Francophonie Pongiste Internationale (FPI)

Description of the partner

The Francophonie Pongiste Internationale (FPI) is an institution that aims to promote table tennis within the Francophone area and to strengthen links between national federations from member countries of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). The FPI has played an active role in keeping table tennis at the Jeux de la Francophonie.

The mission

Contribute to the international, solidarity-based and civic dimension of sport: Take part in initiatives that use sport as a vehicle for developing international relations, but also for integration and social inclusion:

• Volunteers will support the association’s managers in preparing introductory sessions for young people and in the inner-city areas, and in designing teaching tools for workshops based on the values of La Francophonie, such as complementarity and solidarity.
• The volunteers will help to monitor the associations’ various projects.
• Volunteers will report on information and actions carried out to our members as well as to our institutional partners, in particular the Confédération Internationale des Unions Sportives Francophones .
• Volunteers will also promote access to table tennis for people with disabilities or those who are excluded from the sport, in particular by making contact with specialist organisations.
• Volunteers will help to organise events and promote the activities of the Francophonie in sport and will participate in the development of our partnerships with national federations.

Helping to organise events and promote the activities of La Francophonie:

• Volunteers will help the members of the board of directors of Francophonie Pongiste Internationale to organise the international seminar for leaders of French-speaking Table Tennis Federations and actions in connection with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games or the Francophonie summit (e.g. helping to mobilise participants, sending out invitations etc…).

Supporting the Board of Directors:

• Civic service volunteers will be an integral part of the team.
  As such, the volunteers will take part in Board meetings. They will be able to give their opinion and make proposals.
