Description of the partner

L’île aux langues is an association and training organisation dedicated to learning and passing on the French language as a means of empowering people and promoting social, economic, cultural and civic inclusion in the region.

The association’s priority is to meet the need to learn French of people for whom French is not their mother tongue, particularly the socially disadvantaged, job-seekers, migrants and new arrivals.

The mission

Support the team in welcoming migrants and running activities for them:

• Helping migrants discover the area (transport networks, public services, etc.).
• Support the organisation of activities to discover the historical or cultural heritage of the district or town.
• Supporting trainees who wish to do so in their day-to-day activities.
• Participate in the development of French course materials: voice memos and easy French worksheets.
• Helping to monitor the progress of future learners
• Helping to capitalise on information
• Support the running of training courses and educational outings with the trainers
