Description of the partner
Prime Trust works with various target groups in Pondicherry and neighbouring districts of Tamil Nadu. The NGO seeks to contribute to social transformation. It creates programmes that not only offer women the opportunity to become economically independent, but also make them aware of what their lives and those of their children could be like if they broke free from societal norms.
Prime Trust supports women and children in situations of poverty and injustice. Through programmes designed to empower, educate and involve the under-represented, the NGO strives to create a world free from exploitation and discrimination, in which all citizens have equal opportunities to build fulfilling lives.
The mission
- Integral development of children: volunteers support recreational and educational activities, educational programmes, tutoring and children’s parliaments.
- Empowerment of women: volunteers support vocational training projects and self-help groups.
- Social mobilisation and awareness-raising: volunteers support the organisation of community presentations on issues such as healthcare, financial education, gender inequality and environmental issues.
- Health: volunteers help to organise regular medical camps, in collaboration with hospitals and medical faculties, in order to reach the rural population.
- Communication: volunteers help develop creative campaigns and manage social networks.
- Fundraising: volunteers support the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives, make contact with potential donors and provide ideas for diversifying funding sources.

A high degree of adaptability is required.

Room shared by the two volunteers. Bathroom shared by both volunteers. Shared kitchen.
