Description of the partner

SINGA is an international citizens movement that emerged in 2012. The association fosters the emergence of spaces and tools for meeting, exchanging and collaborating between refugees and their host society, in order to promote living together.

SINGA is an association whose aim is to provide solutions to the issues raised by the socio-economic integration of statutory refugees in France. SINGA aims to raise civil society’s awareness of the issues and benefits of asylum, by promoting exchanges, cooperation and collaboration between the host society and refugees, notably through the use of new information and communication technologies.

Singa’s Service Civique volunteers are based in the following cities in France:

  • Lille
  • Strasbourg
  • Paris
  • Bordeaux
  • Lyon
The mission

Missions can vary from one Singa branch to another, depending on the size of the structure and the programs offered. There are two main types of mission: incubation missions and animation missions.

Volunteer assignments at SINGA incubators and acceleration centers:

  • Participate in the implementation of the program’s action plan;
  • Take part in the individual follow-up of project leaders and contribute to the achievement of their respective objectives;
  • Participate in the organization of collective intelligence workshops for the different classes in progress during the civic service;
  • Participate in the organization of cohesion and networking events within the various SINGA support programs;
  • Help set up internal task organization tools;
  • Promote the various support programs externally;
  • Participate in the recruitment of the future pre-incubation promotion;
  • Contribute to inputting monitoring and evaluation data;
  • Propose complementary activities within the program according to his/her interests, in line with SINGA’s objectives and values.

The missions of SINGA community development volunteers :

  • Encourage the creation of relationships between refugees and local residents by proposing meeting initiatives (creation of meeting spaces).
  • Help mobilize Singa community members around proposed events to create encounters.
  • Participate in the preparation of workshops proposed by community members to create encounters (CV workshops, cooking, picnics, yoga, cultural outings, soccer games, entrepreneurial discovery workshops, etc.).
  • Participate in the “Buddies” program, which pairs up refugees and members of civil society around shared passions (with the aim of learning cultural codes and the local language through informal exchanges).
Candidate profile

This mission does not require any particular diploma.

The skills valued will be :

  • Motivation
  • A genuine interest in the mission (integration of refugees and newcomers into society and entrepreneurship)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, ability to summarize and manage e-mails will be appreciated.

Language skills

  • Fluency in English is a bonus
