The Faculty of International Studies (FIS) specializes in international studies.

It teaches languages, history, culture, politics and economics.
In addition to courses, the faculty organizes and participates in a number of cultural and festive activities throughout the year. These include a French spelling bee for high-school students, the “Cinéma à l’Université” operation by the University of Paris, outings (planetarium, cooking, etc.), PSU Open Week, Valentine’s Day celebrations, etc.

The University’s mission is to produce international graduates in International Studies with moral character, knowledge, multicultural understanding and international skills, working in the interest of humanity.
(University motto: “Our soul is for the benefit of mankind”). They also produce research to create an interdisciplinary knowledge of international studies aimed at social development, and promote university services to civil society by integrating them into teaching, learning and research in international studies.

The mission

The missions offered to civic service volunteers directly support the multicultural dimension and social commitment of the University by enabling real intercultural exchange.

The volunteer will be responsible for :

  • Providing support to French teachers (helping students with their homework, writing, pronunciation, exercises, preparing for tests and oral exams, etc.);
  • Support for students with the most difficulties;
  • Helping to organise events to promote and disseminate the French language (various competitions, film days, cookery workshops, etc.);
  • Establishing links between French students at the Faculty of International Studies (FIS) and the few French students from France studying at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FHT);
  • Creation of a Francophone club (film screenings, gastronomic activities, cultural activities, etc.);
  • Development of links with the local French-speaking association Bonjour Phuket and other associations;
  • Gathering the wishes and opinions of students and teachers to set up activities and events.
Candidate profile
  • All profiles are welcome! Above all, we’re looking for people who are motivated by the idea of taking part in a meaningful project and who are highly adaptable and able to take the initiative.
  • Experience of working with students or mobilising a community is a plus.
Accommodation

The University offers volunteers a private room in a flat. The apartment has a kitchen equipped with a fridge and hob. The living room is shared, as are the showers and toilets.

Monthly cost: between €200 and €300.
