Description of the partner
Honduras Child Alliance (HCA) is an association set up in response to a growing awareness that the cycle of poverty is perpetuated by a lack of education. El Porvenir also faces multiple problems that are not easy to solve: food insecurity, unemployment, lack of school preparation. To deal with this complex situation, the programmes include: literacy in English and Spanish, IT, arts, introduction to science, sport, group work/conflict resolution activities. In addition, to tackle the problem of malnutrition, HCA supports healthy eating through “healthy snacks” offered to the children every day during the activities.
HCA combines the energy of international volunteers with that of local trainees to form a diverse and responsive team. Combining people from all over the world with the Honduran team creates a more enriching experience for everyone.
This mission is available on a volunteer basis only (unpaid mission).
The mission

- Preparing and organising extra-curricular activities
- Helping to run English classes for adults twice a week
- Setting up and taking part in the programme of snacks offered to children to combat malnutrition
