INCLUSIVE CAMBODIA is an organisation that promotes inclusive disability and gender practices in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It sets up programmes to give disabled and disadvantaged children and their families the opportunity to live with dignity and independence, so that they can contribute to and participate fully in a more inclusive community. Their mission is to provide families with appropriate therapy, care and support, while promoting community integration through education, sport and the promotion of human rights.

INCLUSIVE’s approach aims to remove systemic barriers, negative attitudes and the exclusion of vulnerable children by Cambodian society by promoting their independence and participation.

The mission

Volunteers will be required to support the members of the Inclusive Cambodia team in a number of activities:

• Supporting the care of children with disabilities: Volunteers will support the educational team, in particular the specialist educators, in the day-to-day care of the youngsters under the supervision of the specialist staff.
• Helping professionals set up educational and teaching activities: The volunteers will support the professionals in preparing and running activities that correspond to the young people’s abilities and individual projects.
• Support for the promotion of the association and awareness-raising activities: Volunteers will be involved in promoting the association’s actions and projects and helping to create content on social networks. Volunteers will be asked to support the local team in developing educational content to raise awareness of the themes of inclusion and disability.

Candidate profile

Training :

Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working with young people with disabilities. A degree in specialised education is a plus.

Languages :

A good command of English is required.

Shared flat with private bedroom, kitchen with fridge and hob and shared lounge, showers and toilets.
