Description of the partner

Centre GUELEWAR is an association that was set up in 2015. Its aim is to offer the population of the town of Ngaparou, located in the Petite Côte region of Senegal, fun, educational and community activities to improve the living conditions of the local population. The centre has a library open to all, and offers a wide range of activities such as sports classes, training courses and a film club.

The mission

Volunteers at the Centre Guelewar carry out the following activities, in support of local team members:

  • Helping to run the library: managing loans, book inventories, etc.
  • Organising activities: chess tournament, creative activities, etc.
  • Organising fun reading activities for younger children
  • Helping to organise cultural events at the GUELEWAR Centre
  • Helping to promote the centre’s activities (communications, social networks, website, writing blog articles, etc.)
Candidate profile

Training:

No training, specific skills or previous professional or voluntary experience can be required. Motivation is the only criterion that should really be taken into account in the context of Civic Service.

Accommodation

Volunteers are accommodated in a single room with bathroom in the centre. A small kitchen is located outside. Wifi is provided in the accommodation.
