Description of the partner
Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) was founded in Strasbourg in 1986 by a group of 120 young people from 11 different countries. Youth for Exchange and Understanding International works to promote peace, understanding and cooperation between young people around the world, in a spirit of respect for human rights.
YEU’s mission is to carry out youth activities that foster closer cooperation and better understanding between the world’s young people, both between and within continents, notably by encouraging the exchange of information, ideas and opinions.
In this way, YEU wishes to promote cooperation and mutual aid in developed and developing countries for cultural, educational and social purposes.
Objectives :
To work towards conflict resolution and the promotion of peaceful societies through the recognition and respect of others.
Improve relations and promote tolerance between young people from different cultural or political backgrounds.
Work together on issues related to environmental protection and sustainability.
Support and promote the health and well-being of young people to improve their quality of life.
Encourage the active involvement of all young people in society, regardless of race, social status, level of education or any other disadvantage.
YEU uses non-formal education methods to increase tolerance and awareness among young people from different countries, cultures and traditions. Using a global education dimension and intercultural learning activities, we promote a higher level of understanding and active citizenship through the development of quality youth exchanges, seminars, conventions, meetings, study visits, training courses and the production of non-formal education resources.
